Saturday night we saw the third annual charity fundraising night in aid of Manorlands hospice. The event, organised by Lill Brothers fish merchants and the huge team of incredible volunteers, and entertainers made the night truly magical.   Every year the event attracts an audience from a large variety of diverse communities who all come together to share a night of fun and entertainment for a great cause. This year, to accommodate the growing crowds that enjoy the night, the venue moved to Fields sports and social club in Clayton, and even then it was standing room only!   The aim for this years event was to surpass last years total of over £5000  ….. a tall order some might say.

But the fantastic team comprising of over 50 volunteers, entertainers and sponsors lifted the total funds raised to an outstanding £8123 !!   Manorlands fundraiser Andrew Wood said “ if you could bottle the community spirit at this event, replicate it, and spread it around  ….  the world would be a far better place”.   We can’t say a big enough thank you to all those involved and would urge anyone and everyone to come along next year and see it for yourselves !!

“Big shout out to Amanda Swales who after two years of preparing kindly donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust.  Yet again, an amazing amount raised for a fantastic cause.  Thank you Amanda for your dedication and no doubt your donation will lighten up the life of a young person, love”
